Certified Master Goat or Sheep Producer Program for beginners or experienced producers. Small ruminant Productions, management, & marketing updates. Class will be held at UF/IFAS Polk County Extension Service, 1702 S Hwy 17S., Bartow, FL 33831. Cost is $50 for full program or $25 per day. There are 15 participants registered now but CLASS WILL BE CANCELED IF WE DON’T GET AT LEAST 25 PARTICIPANTS since presenters must travel from Tallahassee. DECEMBER 7, 2011 – COTTAGE FOOD LAW WORKSHOP

LAKE CITY, FL — The UF-IFAS Columbia County Extension Offfice is presenting and educational workshop for smalll farmers and farmers market vendors on Wednesday, Dec. 7th, from 5:30 to 6:30 pm. The theme of the wokshop is: Cottage Foods 101: Navigating Florida’s New Regulations for Small Producers.

Jenny Jump, Columbia County Ext. Family and Consumer Science Agent will present information on the Florida Cottage Flood Law Requirement. Linda Landrum, UF-IFAS Marketing and rural Development Extension Agent will present information on the Florida food permit requirements for a certified kitchen. Derek Barber, Columbia County Livestock Agent will present information on livestock requirements, such as poultry, that are allowed.

DEC. 10th – YOUTH MEAT & DAIRY GOAT SHOWMANSHIP CLINIC

There will be a youth dairy and meat goat showmanship clinic December 10th, beginning at 10am at the Marion Co. Extension Ofc. in Ocala FL.
